Dr. Petra Berger was born in Stuttgart in 1966.
She went to medical school in Munich, Cornell and Harvard. When she was still at medical school, Dr. Berger went to work with the most prominent international leaders of Plastic Surgery (like Prof. Ivo Pitanguy, Brazil). She first started out her residency in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr Berger spent her plastic surgical training in different departments:
Dr. Berger is a board certified specialist for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery.Additional to her training as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Berger spent two years in the Department of Dermatology, Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, where she worked in laser research and classical and operative dermatology.
Additional Qualifications:
Dr. Petra Berger has 13 years of experience in Plastic Surgery. She holds full membership of the German Socitety of Plastic Surgeons, DGPRÄC (formerly known as VDPC, Member of IPRAS) and Interplast, and is regularly attending international meetings on modern Plastic Surgery (Europe, USA, Brasil). She is supporting Interplast and medecins sans frontieres and is working on her own project in Rishikesh/Haridwar, Northern India. Dr. Petra Berger is married with two children. Her hobbies are sports (black belt in shotokan karate), the arts (Dr Berger is a passionate abstract painter), jazz, eastern philosophy, yoga and meditation.
